1. Overview
1-1. BV Workbench
BV Workbench is a software for image acquisition and analysis, developed by Brainvision Inc. It has functions to control Brainvision's imaging system (MiCAM05/MiCAM03/BV-XB1), acquire imaging data, and analyze acquired imaging data.
1-2. BV Workbench License
“BV Workbench license” refers to a file required to activate acquisition and analysis functions of BV Workbench.
BV Workbench licenses are broadly separated into acquisition and analysis licenses. Also, acquisition licenses are divided into one primary license and three optional licenses. The following features can only be accessed using a valid license. If a valid license is not used, the following functions cannot be accessed.
1-3. Issuing BV Workbench license
BV Workbench license is created based on hardware ID from a computer's hardware configuration (eg motherboard, CPU, RAM...). One file is issued per computer.
(If both acquisition and analysis functions are used, one file will be issued).
BV Workbench license is issued as a text file and is typically provided as an e-mail attachment, as a file in a USB memory stick provided at time of delivery, or pre-installed in a computer as part of the imaging system.
In order to issue a valid license, it is necessary for customers to send a license request file to SciMedia (inquiry@scimedia.com) or Brainvision (support@brainvision.co.jp) by e-mail. A license request file is created by BV Workbench, and it contains hardware ID unique to each computer.
1-4. Data format compatible with BV Workbench

2. Analysis License
The license policy described below relates to a license for data analysis functions of BV Workbench version 4.
2-1. Types of analysis licenses
There are two types of analysis licenses: trial license and paid license.
A trial license is issued only once per person. A paid license refers to the primary license and any additional licenses. Additional licenses can only be purchased after purchasing a primary license.

2-2. Reissue of analysis license
An analysis license can be reissued when a computer used for analysis is changed, either due to a computer malfunction, or due to a computer replacement. When reissuing analysis licenses, it is necessary to pay a reissue fee based on the remaining period of the license.

2-3. Compatibility of license between version 2 and version 4
It is possible to use version 2 license to activate version 4.
3. Acquisition License
The license policy described below refers to a license to access data acquisition functions of BV Workbench version 2.
3-1. Types of acquisition licenses
There are four types of acquisition licenses. An acquisition license has no expiration date and can be reissued free of charge any number of times, and therefore it is possible to set an acquisition license in advance on backup PCs.
